Over het evenement

Soprano Sterre van Boxtel and pianist Liliia Mitronina invite the audience into an intimate musical journey through the changing states of the human soul.

The programme unfolds as a psychological and spiritual path: from longing, irony and the dream of an unreachable paradise in Kurt Weill’s songs, through the obsessive energy of La Folia, to the fragile and fragmented world of Ophelia in Richard Strauss’ three songs. The journey then deepens with Bach-Brahms’ Chaconne in D minor for the left hand — a solitary passage through darkness, endurance and transformation.

The concert ends with a final luminous piece: transparent, peaceful and purifying rather than triumphant. Together, voice and piano create a programme that is dramatic, introspective and deeply human.
